Surf MentorShip and Coaching
Whether you're just starting out or you've been surfing for years, this mentorship program is here to help you progress with more confidence, no matter where you are in the world.
I've spent over a decade working in the surf and windsports industries and more hours in the water than I can count. In that time, I've talked to a lot of surfers who have questions about gear, technique, or where to go on their next trip. Sometimes it's hard to find someone to talk to about this stuff, especially if you don't live near the coast or don't feel comfortable asking around at your local break.
Through 1-on-1 video calls, you'll have space to ask about whatever you're working on or thinking about. We can talk through gear decisions, go over technique, plan out a trip, or just figure out what makes sense for your next step in surfing.
About Me
I'm based in Tofino, British Columbia, where I've been living and surfing since 2012. I first got on a surfboard when I was eight, though my parents had me on windsurfers, and skis well before that and eventually I transitioned to kitesurfing and snowboarding quite regularly. We'd usually take one surf trip a year as a family, but a lot of my foundation in wave riding actually came from kitesurfing. I spent my teen years chasing wind and waves in places like Maui and Mexico, learning to handle bigger, more powerful surf on a kite.
Over the years, I've worked as a surf instructor and surf photographer on Vancouver Island, and spent time travelling in South America, Hawaii and the Pacific US states to chase bigger and better waves and moments from behind the lens. In 2016, I started Tofino Surf Photography, where I capture surf photos and videos, create all sorts of prints, mixed media paintings and other funky art. Being in and around the water with a camera has given me a different perspective on how people surf and what actually helps them improve.
